Mediation and Conflict Resolution Training

This Fall Mediation and Conflict Resolution Training workshop will take place on November 9–10 and November 16–17, 2018.

Mediation Services of Adams County will soon announce the dates of its annual Conflict Resolution training.

Topics include conflict styles, active listening, communication skills, negotiation, mediation, and role-plays, which are extensively employed in order to practice resolving disputes of various types. Professionally trained and certified mediators from Mediation Services of Adams County will conduct all training sessions.

Dispute resolution skills are useful in the workplace, family, service organizations, municipalities, and community agencies. Mediation in particular is a dispute resolution technique designed to resolve problems which develop between people in many different settings. Individuals sit down with a trained mediator and work towards a mutually agreeable solution. Negotiation is a more informal one-on-one approach useful in everyday life.

The cost for the workshop is $275 per person ($250 for early birds, if payment is made by october 26, 2018).Twenty Continuing Legal Education credits, awarded under the auspices of the Pennsylvania Council of Mediators, will be available to attorneys for an additional fee of $50. Non-profit organizations may send one person to the training at a substantial discount. Fees should be paid under the aegis of the sponsoring organization. Anyone who has previously taken the workshop and wishes to refresh his/her skills may enroll free of charge but should register using the current registration form.  Saturday sessions lunches are included in the registration fee.
