Mary Kay Turner
Mary Kay Turner graduated from Manchester College (now University) in North Manchester, Indiana. She taught fifth grade one year in Cleveland, Ohio.
She joined Brethren Volunteer Service and worked five years at Tri-Community Day Care Center on the west side of Chicago. She married Roger Turner; they moved to Gettysburg, Pennsylvania in1976 and raised a daughter and a son there. She earned an M. ED. in Counseling at Western Maryland College (now McDaniel). She was a substitute teacher for about 30 years.
Mary Kay served on the board of Interfaith Center for Peace and Justice in the 1980s and directed Peace Camp beginning in 1988 for 5 years. She met with the committee that formed Mediation Services of Adams County in 1995 and has served on the board since then, many years as secretary. She continues to serve as the secretary and is also the Intake Coordinator.
